Shadows Poem by Mark Hopwood

Shadows

Shadows, Surrounding my soul
Covering the light in their cloaks of darkness
Where is the way?
Where is the answer?
Nowhere that I can see.

And I'm falling again, Down to the bottom
Thrashing about in this sinking soul
What remains?
What could ever be?
Nothing that I can see.

Shadows, surrounding the world
Making her spin backwards, the past never passes
It's always in the present
And always in the future,
Wherever the future may be.

And I'm falling again, Smashing into the ground
Thrashing about in my sinking soul
What remains?
What has ever been?
Nothing that can be seen.
