Shakespeare Too Unfolded His Emotions Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Shakespeare Too Unfolded His Emotions

Rating: 3.5

Shakespeare too unfolded his emotions
Like the waves that roll and roll majestic
When roaring stands the mighty Ocean:
Wave upon wave, wave after wave
Time and Space, Space and Time united
All in One and One in All :
So I; so write; so feel; so versify
And times to come will perhaps
Brush off the dust over the lank words
The ironed passages and the highlighted words:
O! Shakespeare too unfolded his emotions.

This is brilliant, Emmanuel! You succeed in bringing Shakespeare into our presence, not the way an actor does when he PRETENDS to be Shakespeare but when a lover of Shakespeare embodies his spirit in their own being. How is that done? Well, by means of a poem like this one which makes the case for Shakespeare one of urgency and relevance. For a native speaker of English like myself, Shakespeare is not just a Master, he is a God. He is the only character in our human history I deify, but he is so worthy of it, because he created a magic circle, he made it replete with life, he renews that life every time someone reads his words and brings that character back in PRESENCE. I applaud your poem evoking his timeless spirit. Shall we go to see one of his plays together? Meet me at the restored Globe Theater in London - Perhaps they will stage ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, one of my favoerites!
