Shallow Sand Castles Poem by Walter C. Edwards

Shallow Sand Castles

One day the Devil will be laughing at you,
busting a gut,
you are so screwed,
shallow waters you walk upon,
will never hold up to time,
friends will depart,
leaving you with a broken heart,
of you own making,
but these are things you will never see,
walking upon the shallow sand castles of dreams,
the sun fades as the water washes it all away.
