Shame On Us Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Shame On Us

Once again sun is out
Almost warm
Snow melts, water runs
Men/women on roadside holding sign
“Please help hungry and homeless...”
With anger and sadness
I laugh loud
It’s so loud that tears pour my eyes
Then I shout:
“Shame on us...”
We are in Canada
(Toronto’s Eglinton cuts throat of Allen)
