Shared Past Poem by Jason Jackson

Shared Past

Old friend, old friend, how long since you asked
for my welfare, for known friends, for our family
glad to hear of your success & your wealth,
we will part & remember our shared past

Take heed of our lesson lived,
share your wisdom & protect the young,
experience is a tool to aide us,
but let us not relent on the rule of fun

Our memories will light the dark corners of the present,
we will look back on them, with great fondness & regret
halcyon thoughts are not always as clear as we think,
we musn't undo, that which will always remain undone
