Shattered Heartbeats Poem by Amanda Larsen

Shattered Heartbeats

Rating: 5.0

A faded joke
No one no longer laughs at...
A shallow threat
your heart stays calm as ice...
A pointless run
You know that no one's chasing...
An empty kiss...
An empty heart...

A fall on the same stone
A king without a throne
A raindropp in the sea
A night that kills the day
A trace of guilt that's pushed away...

Feed me words,
then leave in silence...
Alive among dead,
my shattered heart beats...

I laugh, because my laugh can make it funny
I'm scared, because I'm longing for the fear
I run, because I hope that you are chasing
I kiss, because I wish I could still feel...
