She Held On Tightly To Her Blankets Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

She Held On Tightly To Her Blankets

She held on tightly
To her blankets
For far too long
That they started
To move away from her

The bed wishes
To shake her off to the floor
Clocks are ticking
The days started to disappear;
She was no longer welcome here

She can’t depart
Or go anywhere, here, there
But as she crawls nearer
To the sounds of familiarity
They come to feel her bleed
