She Is Just A Kid Poem by Salma Said

She Is Just A Kid

Rating: 5.0

You said I was annoying as a little kid.
Yet you stayed by my side when no one did
Add to that, you are still whishing me the best ahead
And looking at the numbers of mistakes I did
I look at you now, my face turned red
I want to say sorry, yet it's not enough
I need to say it yes, but this time with love
I made you cry, scream, jump up and down for something I spilled on the floor, when you were done cleaning, and exhausted.
Yet you would start over without saying a word.
I am sorry mom, I was just a kid!
You knew I was a kid.
You said it to yourself inside your head every time I cause trouble.
"She is just a kid."
Patient. Elegant.
Loving. Encouraging.
Supportive. Protective.
Hardworking. Heartwarming.
You taught me to love, to forgive, and to live a life filled with purpose.
You were always there for me.
You were always there with words of wisdom.
Your strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly.
Today I get to say 'Thanks mom for all of what you did to me. I will continually be there for you like you always did for me. Oh, and I am still your little girl mom! "

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I knew I have said so many times before that I don't like my mom so much, in factm I said that I hate her.
yet, in school, I was supposed to write and introduce something about mothers in general for graduation. In my new school,9th grade is considered as middle school. I totally find it weird, but went with it.
After writing this poem, I decided to not hate my mother anymore. I've got to get closer to her even if I brought more pain to myself. she is still my mother at the end, and she is the one who brought me to this world. I can't hate her anymore.
Here comes the immutable truth though, I am not ready to love her…yet: p
