She Is Kin Poem by Weldon Davis

She Is Kin

She is young, kind, and
Beautiful
Although we are not
Nor never will be
I feel kin to her
Like a brother or a cousin even

There are similarities in our
Demeanor
The calm patience in which
She moves through life
With little to no worries

The cool intelligence in her eyes
Never flaunting yet
Undeniably there

The compassion
The understanding
All of this is unsaid between us
It is just felt

Her aura exudes acceptance
Her smile kills
Cause it is my smile

I can not explain this
I do not comprehend
She is not my lover nor crush
She is not my friend
She is not my sister nor cousin
-Yet-
She is my kin
