She (Vina Dzivo Zemak) Poem by Edgars Brivbergs

She (Vina Dzivo Zemak)

Just pillows and blankets in my little room,

They lie in the corner, increasing a gloom,

Fresh air, which seems so bitter today,

Unnoticed gets into the chest everyday.

And snow in the street is out of place,

It takes me in its unpleasant embrace,

The only assurance makes feelings all right:

I really know that she's in my sight.

She doesn't know Russian and German's unknown,

And I'm so in love with her moody frown,

Four walls, which surround the terrible room,

Become day by day the cause of her doom.

She doesn't give answers to questions of mine,

It's normal for her to be in decline,

She doesn't look for the ways to be free,

Indifferent eyes declare: «Agree! ».

I've recently noticed that she was away,

Fresh air still seems so bitter today,

But only assurance makes feelings all right:

I really know that she's in my sight.
