She Wants Poem by Kayla Jacobs

she wants to be free
she wants someone to understand
the hurt she has hidden within
the pain she has written in her eyes
she hides behind her mask
hoping someone will see her
and notice the pain she's in
she walks past everyone with her head held low
wishing someone would see the real her
the pain is just too much to bare
it has been too long waiting
she adds another cut to her long list of waits
deeper this time then the last
pain doesn't bother her as it used to
it's all a figment of her imagination
you can't ignore it if you want to
her time has come
her wait has been too long
she just wanted to be free
