She Was Here Poem by Anthony Rweyemamu

She Was Here

An optimistic sun shines on a dark heart,
Warmth turns to scorching heat; a smile to a symbol of hurt,
Pain a comforter so bitter,
Regret; an aftertaste to a past much sweeter.

The romantic full moon mocking one's feelings,
Grinding the heart further to tiny fillings,
Every moment nature's torture becomes a newer,
An unbearable fate to beginings so pure.

Sentiments now nothing more than a choking hazzard,
Provoking tears to a heart already hit hard,
A look to the skies; a desperate plea,
Nights of crying out; sobbing on one's knees.

Broken; left to pick up one's own pieces,
A victim to rejection; the greatest of diseases,
Say; if love only gave an introduction,
A spit on it's face would surely be the fitting reaction.
