I'm innocent
Well as innocent as a man can be
Sure I've done some cruelty
But show me a man who hasn't
I'm a good guy
I go to church
I pray
I believe anyone can be saved
As long as you do the right things
I'm innocent
In this dog eat dog world
One has to become a wolf
And you cannot fault me for falling into line
Assimilation is a dangerous game to play
My values sidelined to blend in
Doing what needs to be done
To get a head
But I'm a good guy
I only really drink at communion
And one would be hard pressed
To say a bad thing about me
That's how good I am
In my community
And yet…
Their glares are directed at me
Saying something about wolves
But I swear I have no idea
What they are talking about!
I am innocent
My name as white as snow
But the people I have known all my life
Are looking at me like I am diseased
Pointing fingers
With eyes full of hate
These people I have known my whole life
Now seam so foreign
Possessed with hatred
I am innocent
They are just as guilty as me
Who do they think they are?
Standing by like everyone else
Just to turn around and accuse me
Of harboring evilness
I was just following the herd
They stand by and watch
Standing by while I get treated like a criminal
Why must I be hanged?
What crime have I truly committed
That the rest have not done ten fold
If I am guilty
What do you think that makes you?
My screams go unheard
Already not human in your eyes
I will be put down like a bad dog
Without guilt or remorse
I am innocent
Yet you hang me anyways
