Shell Poem by Augustus Carter

Shell

i am now just an empty shell of my former self the person you see before you is now dark and full of dread no one can change it and only one may try but for the one who tries they will have a fight on their hands for my thought are dark, gloomy, evil, and full of death my spirit strong yet weak its fire dieing quickly just like me soon i shall en-golf myself in total darkness and let hatred consume me for those who knew they no longer will I'm sorry for those i will push away but i no longer want to hurt anyone and when i am done no longer will for when i am done pushing them away and hurting myself i shall end it all and let rest fulfill.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Powerful statement on how hollow we can feel at times, empty, dark. And you capture that feeling of wanting to give up when the emptiness hits, but we also must appreciate that this darkness and emptiness can be filled again, I know. Powerful write and I enjoyed the read, L&T
