Shhhhhhhhhhhhh....She Sleeps! ! ! Poem by Antonio Lockridge

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh....She Sleeps! ! !

'Shhhhhhhhhhh she’s sleeping, like an angel, she sleeps!
In my arms an angel, shhhhhhhhhh she sleeps!
Her spirit is rested, her soul she sleeps. If I could have that moment when she was at peace, I would never wake her; in my arms she sleep.

I may bite her ears or tickle her when she’s awake, but an angel is resting in my arms she sleeps. So warm, so patient, so leave her in peace! When my angel is resting, in my arms she sleeps!

Never wake her! Never shake her! No bothering her when! No impure thoughts! No resting with!

My mind’s wondering 'Is she for me? ', but a baby she seems, so in my arms she sleeps. Kiss her when she’s awake, hold her when she plays, wrap that warm soft blanket around the essence of her shape.

Please, Do not wake her! Do not shake her! Tease her not the least, when she is anywhere close to rest, let her sleep! That beauty never fades, let her rest; in my arms she sleeps. So don’t hold her hands! Don’t hold her feet! Bother her not the utmost least! When she’s awake, ask her if even hugging her she agrees. But when an angel is down, closes her eyes, resting to say the least, Bother her not! Let her be! In my arms she sleeps! '

This is so very special as a writing. It even has a bit of flow to it in places. The lines are beautiful and romantic. Worthy of a fine love poem. It is a wonderful fun read. Very pleasant presentation. GW62
