Short-Pants Potentate Poem by Donal Mahoney

Short-Pants Potentate

Inferno of a summer day
Mother's dozing

Tommy, tiny, three,
paring knife in hand

tiptoes out, flops
short-pants potentate

upon the sidewalk sunny,
operates on ants
