Shush Poem by Francie Lynch

Shush

There was once a time of quietude.
If I said something;
If I showed you something;
If I did something;
If it was warm and loving,
Interesting or whimsial,
Controversial or agreeable,
You might nod, shake your head,
Sigh or gesture with your hands,
Or say, Yes or No or Maybe.
Even though I'm reading,
There's too much noise.
They're laughing... loudly,
Smiling, hugging, liking, Wowing, loving, crying...
I can hear them.

Our olden days were so much quieter.
LOL WOW :)
