Signs Of Climate Change Poem by Francis Duggan

Signs Of Climate Change

The weather is chilly yet with so little rain
And not one dropp of water in the roadside drain
The hills overlooking the river are green
Yet signs of climate change not hard to be seen
The river is low for the time of year
And in the long range weather forecast of heavy rain we do not hear
In the depths of mid Winter five weeks from the Spring
To many a few days of heavy rain great joy would bring
No signs of heavy rain in the southern sky
And everywhere looking so dry for July
A dry Winter has followed a dry Spring, Summer and Fall
And financially the farmers are not doing well at all
So many for heavy spells of rain do pray
Though heavy rain from the Country does seem far away.
