Silent Night - Poem by Gabriela Duricova

There's something broken between us
The crystal bridge that bound our shores
It erupted and fell apart
In silence of the holy night

Majestic ice cubes shined so bright
Over the boiling lava stream
That flew on without compromise
Consuming love as it may seem

There's something frozen between us
Poor firmed water melted and cried
Its tacit tears dripped unwitnessed
Until they smothered river cruel

Left unable to find more fuel
For fire; world feels cold and dead
Like torch that forgot it once burned
It's dark, who'll take first step ahead?
