Silhouette Poem by Liam O'Brien

Silhouette

Rating: 5.0

A silhouette against the night-time sky,
A deeper black than midnight shows,
Betrayed the presence of a man
Who sat to contemplate his woes.

Cross-legged, sitting as a child
Would to hear a story book,
He sat and learned a whole new mindset
Darkening his life's outlook.

He will not hear the wondrous birdsong,
Nor see the beauty of sunrise,
For he has trained his senses 'gainst it
Muting, blinding ears and eyes.

So pity the nameless silhouette
Who sits and thinks of naught but sorrow
And invite them to sit the whole night through
So the sun can welcome them to tomorrow.

Great write liam, sad that such men exist but true, the night hides such things so well, With the light comes the dark side of man.
