We share this earth, you and I,
Beneath the same wide, open sky.
Though skin may differ, tongue may stray,
We're nature's children, come what may.
Like sage and dandelion bright,
We push through dark to find the light.
Tenacious hearts, that bloom anew,
A stubborn strength in all we do.
A turtle's pace, a skunk's defense,
Protecting spirit, holding sense.
A quiet strength, a patient soul,
To make us happy make us whole.
The owl's keen eye, the crow's sharp call,
Observing wisdom, standing tall.
A knowing glance, a whispered word,
Unseen, unheard, yet felt and heard.
Though fish may swim a distant sea,
They nourish life, for you and me.
No borders hold, no walls can keep,
The bond we share, both wide and deep.
