Simple Poem by R. L. Allen

Simple

It's not always that simple
to forget what has passed,
to wish away memories of
things you once asked.

It's not always so easy
to accept all these words
you throw when you're broken,
a stone for the birds.

Yet, to think that you're hurting,
well - I know how that feels;
whatever you’re thinking,
I wasn’t born bearing wheels.

But keep rolling I do
over mountain and hill,
through silence, through thunder
I’ll keep running until

I’ve made myself clear –
so I can just be,
until I find where I’m going,
or to where I’m going finds me.
