Simple Ii Poem by Gary Diamond

Simple Ii

Simple
Elegant
Form and a function.

Regardless
Serpentine
Lacking the decent.

We all have great stories with amusing twists
Worth telling for the world's benefit
An the end of a tether the greatness emerges
Coloured myths right and wrong
Prone to giving into urges.

Denial
The fist fight
The love in a blanket

Rebuttal
And insight
Belated and lazy.

Why keep complications around
Like lead weights at the bottom of a sailboat
Sinking to drown.
We all do things without will reason.
We give in to whatever is in season.
Whatever is in the air.

What should be so simple
Becomes an inelegant banquet.
A feast at the trough of ignorance
A contrivance and a distraction.
A blight.
