Simply Delightful Poem by Grant House

Simply Delightful

Some things are simply delightful
They make you smile
Like yawns, sneezes and hiccups
Their delight is built in us
No matter who you are
Or where you were born
Under thatched roof or red tile
Fresh off the boat or here for a while
No matter who you are in love with
The languages you speak
Or what you believe
Thinking about coming or about to leave
A chartreuse 2" high llama
Brilliant orange hooves, nose, and ears
And that cute brilliant orange tail
I know without fail
A very small llama from a very small farm
Near very small mountains
And a very small barn
A very small llama made entirely of yarn
A llama like that
Perched high on her Andes
Bathroom plug on the wall
No matter how short you are or how very tall
When she looks at you
With those big accepting eyes
Whatever your pedigree
Position or pique
Delight will find you
Make you smile, laugh or giggle
You won't be able to stop it
My oh my, if you try
That chartreuse, brilliant orange-eared, two inch high llama
Will find your everybody's-got-one funny bone
And give it a tickle
Some things are simply delightful
They just make you smile
Like yawns, sneezes and hiccups
Their delight is built in us
