Since I Does Not Feel Worthy Poem by Francis Duggan

Since i does not feel worthy of the title poet
I leave it to others themselves to promote
It was my love of rhyme made a rhymer of me
And a rhymer as such is the best i can be
And though my worth as a rhymer i have reason to doubt
No shortage of subjects for to write rhymes about
And though as a writer i will never be to the fore
To my numbers of rhymes everyday i add more
I am one of those people who love writing rhyme
And i have been doing it for quite a long time
I wrote my first rhymes in nineteen seventy three
It was my love of rhyme made a rhymer of me
My best physical years in the forever gone
But for as long as i can do i will keep on rhyming on.
