Single Souls Poem by Yvonne Rautenbach

Single Souls

Rating: 4.5

Made or born all single souls?
Guarded by angels
For whom the bell tolls

Sleight of Houdini
Resisting the ties
Too smart for the bold
Whose murmur soon dies

A plan or by chance
You single folk?
Crafted and timed for a devil's joke?
Stealing hearts and tempting passion
with engaging conversation?

You shine for the needy
Reflecting their sighs
No have and to hold
Yet no fear in your eyes….
