Single Tree Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Single Tree

Single tree

Far and wide sand, sky
And mirage
(As if pond with trees, reflection of the sun)
And the tree all alone
Column-like is a pod
(Top sky, desert base)
Days and nights
Winds and lights
Very cold or too hot
Sometimes the animals
Walk, run or crawl.

“Confident I resist.”
