Sinister Love Poem by Sakib Choudhury

Sinister Love

Life is the most sinister form of evil
Known to those who have loved
For it dangles what you covet most
In front of your face
Knowing full well that obtaining it
Will be far out your reachable grasp

Leaving you feeling like a mule
Following a juicy ripe carrot
Ever driving you forward
For to take a bite from the fruit
That took every fiber of being to obtain
Will quench all the feelings surfaced
Leaving nothing but satisfaction
Of a life full of hardships

Alas when time passes by
Day by day, year by year
And the one thing coveted above all else
Becomes somebody else's
Object of true affection

There is nothing physically possible
But to be reeling in self-pity
For the all-important battle is lost
Leading to losing the war with life

As the final chapter grows closer
To the finishing of the tale
So does the life water
Flowing through my network
Soon i will be joining all those
Who have battled against the evil
And lost everything worth living for

Life has a morbid way of beating a person
We get shown a glimmer of hope
All but to have it ripped away from our grasp
Never to have any feelings ever again
Sapping away the whole meaning of life
