Sink Of Patience Poem by Randy Todd

Sink Of Patience

Stride
after weary stride
you are like the jungle
nether-scented
drawing me inside

out of dreary days
painting me with
amnesty and magic
through your subtle ways

but hesitation slows me down
what else would it ever do
i know
i'll fumble through somehow
the next time will be easier
that's how we grow

and why
we often wonder why
when we can build across the waters
and blast into the sky
are we spinning
into entropy
turning
from ourselves
up to our galaxy

fading into spirals
in the darkness
i'm waiting
for you to come around
trailing the whispers
of my memory
within, without

imperfection
tumbles out of me
in opalescent mischief
i'm a nightengale
at sea

and i dance
upon the crystal sand
moist and cool with night
my hands
rest upon the hourglass
and i understand
and look into the light

well i tried
i tried to find a way
but there is no golden path
facing into yesterday
so i
i am here to be
and to sing in resonation
with everything around me
ringing

ringing into spirals
in the darkness
i'm waiting
for you to make a sound
so take me to your sanctuary
wash me in your
sink of patience
wash me down
oh watch me

fade into a spiral
in the darkness
i'm waiting
for you to come around
trailing the whispers
of my memory

breathe
in
breathe
out

breathe
in

breathe
out

breathe

in

breathe

out

breathe

in
