Vanishing Poem by Randy Todd

Vanishing

Rating: 5.0

lights in the hot autumn night
shine in your eyes overflowing
buried by affection already
a wave in sunlight
so heavy but bright
beautiful, sweet, vanishing

on your way back to colorado
nothing i can do
nothing there for me but you
if you should find your way back to california
the bed is already made
the table laid for two
where i'll be waiting

waiting for the train
in the same place we had been
so confused to be woken from dreaming
a star sped by so fast
like the past it can last forever
if it's gone to words and song

if you should look up
in the coming nights and days
and falling from the sky aren't snowflakes
they're the ashes of my thoughts of you
burning up above the rockies

dreams that couldn't make it
through the mountain air
please catch them on your tongue
and know that i will never stop sending them
in hopes that one will someday make it there
to vanishing you
