Sister Poem by Ibn Ali

Sister

She's dignified.
Eyes lowered,
Long strides,
Garbs flowing.
A shadow in darkness,
Unnoticed,
But still the centre of focus.
Her raiments are the shell,
That engulf the pearl inside,
That diamond men dig deep for,
To satiate their eyes,
Many pebbles on sandy beaches with beauty well exposed,
Do well to attract glances,
But get picked and tossed aside,
Because the gifts men deem most precious,
God made them hard to find,
Each strand of windswept hair that sways like untamed flame,
Each subtle curve that draws the breath and makes the soul depraved,
She defines courage,
Aware of her disguise,
She glides the pave on modesty,
Graceful and dignified.
