Six Poem by Benjamin Campney

Have you ever been president of your very own parade,
hopping through the street so merry and gay?
Have you lied in the grass as the birds all sing,
maybe stroll through town while the church bells ring?
These are all fun when time is yours
instead of all those boring chores.
When your staring at the teacher sitting in class,
looking out the window to watch the growing grass.
All work and no fun we slave all day,
we should be running and jumping and shouting HURRAY!
When we get tired, time for a cartoon and nap.
When we wake again time to run another lap.
We read books and bring toys,
with the towns girls and boys.
Oh what fun we should have instead of class,
it moves so slow when I need to go fast!
I wait then wait and wait some more,
then the bell rings and I run out the door!
I get on the bus to rush my way home,
I tell the driver 'DON'T DELAY, DON'T ROAM! ! '
We pull up to my house not a moments delay.
I step outside - rain today? ! ?
So I guess I'll have to postpone all the fun I wish to partake,
I'll just go inside for hot chocolate and cake!
