I can't be sure
Whether I experience the magnificent death or
Whether I live through hell
I can't be sure
About the move my fingers make
Rhytmically scribbling indecipherable letters
I can't be sure
If the breath I take isn't the last time I fill my lungs or
If they'll burn to ashes
And I can't know
What's going to happen next
And I can't know
Whether it will be the best
But maybe
Some time
If I had to choose
I would take uncertainty over a prescripted life
Maybe I am such a fool and such a coward
That I'd rather leave it this way, instead of having to let go of the prospect
Of my theories
And maybe I don't want to know which of the voices
Living in my head
Tells me the truth.

Well, Carolynn's one voice per head. My daughter's name is, Caroline. And we just can't be permitted to know in advance, what is coming. Or we would try to change it, I know, I would. Great topics for your poem.. iip
