Skinning Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Skinning

Skinning

Was thinking of skin
-of the goats and of sheep
-one pulled out with hands, legs
-to be bag, storage
-another cut flat…
-to be used as carpet
-wisdom of ancestors!
-they found wool as warmer

Came to mind Mohammad
-the Muslims' prophet
-he said "No" to woman, a mother
- "No, not now; not today!
-you may come tomorrow."

He was the only source
-a leader, the wisest, and kindest.

"How could he say no to…? "
-people asked: "…a mother? "

She had come to seek help
-to get word of wisdom
-for her child

The boy was an addict
-he consumed too much dates!
-he was deaf to mother's requests
-he opposed, rejected and rebelled! ! !
- (as we do… most of us,)

Caring mom was sure of
- "Nobody says no to Prophet, "
-knowing that was the cause of attempt
-so, took son…

"I myself have had some dates…"
-told said to men, prophet:
- "…therefore, I can't advise."

I have been lucky to
-visit the places
-have heard, read
-seen, observed
-with my eyes,
-and have felt, deep inside
-for learning of myself
-as atom, molecules
-compressed in balloon

Is it of simple air?
-Oxygen?
-Hydrogen?
-Helium?
-or knowledge?
-awareness?
-pleasure that have felt?
-by skin?
-through eyes?
-ears and or brain?

Unable to divide, I decide:
- "Must allow others to take their share
-of gasses compressed!
- (in my corpse)
- I must burst;
-if not am a worthless! ! ! "

Pressure to gasses is of years
-of being on the roads,
-on the land, seas and air
-and the love for cultures
-in the books, in action

Most of all
-eating and dining and drinking
-on floors; and dancing,
-questioning everywhere
-becoming a part of the people

People and animals, to you all:
- "I am so filled with love
-that ignore the borders, locations
-do not care for genders…"
