Skyline Poem by Sheridan Davis

Skyline

Rating: 3.5

Is it wrong that I am better when you catch me in your sights
Because if you're happy, I'd never be caught standing still
And to see your words like a tragic lullaby
I could sink into forever with a confident state of mind
To be captured in the glory of a moment caught in time
Reality in the moments when I dreamed that you were mine
And remind me to breathe, because I'm holding my breath
In anticipation for what will happen next
So stare me down from the barrier between
It's time and space restraining me
And if I told you every thought in my mind
Would you stay up thinking of them all tonight
So I'm walking on my tightrope in the skyline, so tall
And if I breathe in now I am bound to fall
