Sleep Poem by Andy Barrette

Sleep

Sleep is not a friend
but the co-signer of your body.
If you forsake her you will see a trend
when she feels you've been naughty.
Do not fail to rest you mind,
as I will often do,
for if sleep hears of your bind
she'll pull your feet from under you.
You can't resist lest she fights back
with hammer fists so large
that she will knock you out with one attack,
reminding who's in charge.
Next time you feel sleep's sound coo
and your eyes begin to roll,
just do as we so rarely do:
Give in and pay the toll.

P.S.:
Wow. What a horrid poem.
That surely is not by best.
I would try to write another
but, instead, I have to rest.
