sweet sleep take me with you
let me ride aloft your feathery wings
into the night sky
sing me gentle lullabies with your soft-toned wind
let me drift off into the never ending slumber...
the land of eternal beauty
where tears are never cried
loving hearts are never torn
and innocence is protected, always
flowers are vibrant,
like I've never fathomed
and the gentle stars glimmer lightly
as I'm basked in the joy of milky moonlight.
sweet sleep take me on your journey
to the heavens
like a black and white photograph
everything is permanently gorgeous and surreal, frozen
I close my heavy eyes
I've paid all my dues.
take me away before the moon falls
and dew forms on the grass
before light creeps through my curtains
like a stealthy thief coming to
rob me of rapture.
oh dear sleep, take me to the place of my dreams
that place of delicate peace.
