Sleeping Poem by Alison Dunn

Sleeping

Rating: 5.0

Am I here with the crowd?
Do they notice me dreaming?
I am smiling and speaking
Though my words have no feeling
I can’t tell from their laughter
It’s so empty of meaning
I seem to be breathing, but
It feels like I’m sleeping

This poem should resonate with every creative person. It is indeed possible to feel alone in a room full of people. But we poets can express our feelings about the experience on paper. We are lucky in that respect. Very insightful, Alison. Love, SandraX
