Sleeping Back To Back Poem by Jack Galmitz

Sleeping Back To Back

Declining male nude
facing the dark night
of the window.
His arm wraps the pillow.
The two are united.
His soul left him ages ago
and descends the backroads
of the collective soul.
His wife beside him
snores. She placed her dentures
in a cup of water to soak overnight.
There's much between them
though it's not put in words.
Do they love each other?
You may as well ask
if the tree loves the earth
or the dinghy the ocean.
