Sleepless Nights Poem by Mimi Ahmed

Demons at night that keep me awake
They are twirling and swirling inside my head
They haunt me and taunt me
They make darkness come upon me

My whole body becomes a black hole
They fill me with negative recalls
Each memory comes with a hard brick wall

They ask me to play
And keep it on replay
Each memory settles like pins in my head
Sticking to my mind and it starts to spread

Overwhelmed and exhausted
My lungs can't take it
My mind feels distorted
I'm not sure i can make it
