Sleepy Eyed Man Poem by bob barci

Sleepy Eyed Man

I'm in that in between time.
Awake, but too tired to get up.
Tired, but too restless to fall back to sleep.
I just did my waking up,
but as much as I don't want to get up and move about,
I don't want to stay in bed.
I'm just a sleepy eyed man.
Wish I would do one or the other,
either wake up enough to get up and move about,
or actually fall back to sleep.
That in between time is deadly.
A time when decisions can't be, and shouldn't be, made.
A time when - when - when - oh, I don't know,
Who can think at a time like this?
I'm just a sleepy eyed man.
