Slipping Into Memories On A Sleepless Nights Poem by Sulaiman Alimat Taiwo

Slipping Into Memories On A Sleepless Nights

Deep in my palms sit my destiny
I've dreamt, work, fight and live
-with my pen on my palms
Fate brings muse alongside darkness
Like lightning follows thunder
So does darkness after my muse
Is it destiny?
That I walk in the shadows of my light?
As a child my eyes were eagle-like
Fixed to the peak
With claws like feet
Standing firm from slip
At 10, a recurrent dream was translated
my fate was Joseph's
Little I knew to have rebuked dreams
As young as infant I was.....
Today, I'm yet to see all he saw
But I'm full of saws
I've walked through the galaxy, moon and hearts on earth
