Slow Moving Turtles Poem by tcr moon

Slow Moving Turtles

Slow moving sea turtles
Beached with Orca meals;
Minotaural complexities in zonal proximity

And mastodons crash without wheels...

Empty echoing mines shafts
Funded with the tears of a nation,
Reconstituted recyclables stand firm

On addressees and procrastination.

Eyes that see a million pictures
In paranormal avenues of glasnost,
Where I sit alone in a tepid bathtub,

Singing along with Michael Buble’s “Lost”

Out of earshot, naturally so
And the accompanying video is deemed a nasty
While dolphins die in pools of blood

Such images initiate nightmares long lasting.

The sea is calm today
As I view the panorama in my mind’s eye
And cut myself shaving, blooded yes

But I’m not about to die

In sylloquial anguish and pain
As the world turns, mocked by death
Inflicting mankind’s cruellest hand

While I slumber lazily in my bed.

What can I do? What, should I do?
Smiling makes little difference at all,
Children in blazing hot deserts fall by the score

While I worry if today I’ll hear God’s call.

Supermarkets sell on unlawful kills.
Kids on street corners are all popping pills.
Governments gorge on than their fill.
But ignorance laughs while apathy kills.
All run away and hide in the hills.
Far from slow moving turtle's idyll.
More important, grindstone, nose and mill,
Oxford 1 Manchester cathedral nil!
And I scratch away with an inked up quill.
Coffee hot, bashful warring, the chills
Oblivious like slow moving turtles
And ignorance laughs while apathy kills...

Look ye above, look on until
The rains shall parade 'pon windows of sill,
Acidic and deadly, comes to maim at will

While ignorance laughs and apathy kills...
