Slower Like A Flower Poem by George Samuel

Slower Like A Flower

Rating: 4.5

Fatal is the way I must trek,
With painful feet till I break,
While others in their shinning rides,
Blast passed in blinding pride,
And splash to my face, filthy acid.

Yet I walk this path alone!
In weariness till dawn,
And sliced my cake in two,
For the far journey ahead, tomorrow,
Must not be of men, but God.

Every step, with fear how to survive,
Every leap, near the night arrive,
My human wantonness not a surprise,
My eyes have desired all at sunrise,
The wish, I was never born with a prize.

The old back would ache, through many years,
Slower like a flower, the steps,
I keep up with every sunset to bear,
The bones and burden of my debts,
And live each day as it comes.
