Slumber Poem by Don Prem Legaspi

Slumber

I close my eyes
in the darkness, entwined
I see you
And I wait for the embrace
The night-sky's caress
This waning consciousness
To feel, I fall
In twilight slumber

I dream of you
And it would kill me to see
That you're nowhere near me
When I wake up
But I still hope to be in
That same dream
Night after night
And it would be enough

I long for you
To want what can't be had
Tending these ashes past
And this I see
And it makes me burn
For the longer I yearn
The deeper I dream
And The truer I feel
