Slumber Party Poem by Just Dave

Slumber Party

Our hearts beat faster,
Yet so calmly,
Lying side by side.

Arms entwined, hand in hand
Strolling through the night
Watching the lights upon the cove
Contemplating life.

A dance, a kiss, a smile, a gift -

Through half the night or more
We wish together.

I sense again your warm, taut thighs
The arc of your back at sunrise.
Who knew about your tattoo?

Your gentle smile
Your dark blue eyes
So brilliant in the morning sun
Remind me that together
My life has just begun.
