Small Light Poem by Joshua Gilchrist

Small Light

Small Light April 4' 2009

I see you in the darkest moments and I whisper your name.
Waiting for your voice or a sound to let me know it’s you.
I have thought about you ever since we first met.
Would it be possible for us to be together?
Could it be true?

As I close my eyes and go to sleep,
I still see you comforting me with your smile.
Heavenly dreaming about good times we can have.
Hoping that lasting love will spread over us.
Maybe even bringing us together, not soon, but in a little while.

You stand strong as if you know what you are doing,
Yet you float in the air like a butterfly.
You take my sorrow and turn into grace,
And my day is finally right when I see your face.
You are my small light.

You are the little thing that makes a big difference,
Carrying with you all there is to see.
Your laughs and joys, comfort and trust,
I can only hope you can share that with me.
You are my small light.
