Small Minds Poem by Francis Duggan

Small Minds

As long as you've not harmed them in any sort of a way
It matters little to you what others of you say
As long as their comments are not libelous them you ought to ignore
Small minds breed negativity we've heard that one before,
Small minds they never do grow they seem to remain small
They believe in a fair go for their friends and family but not in a fair go for all
Some kind and generous people I've been privileged to know
One could say Worldly people as they age their minds too grow
But small minds never seem to grow nor knowledge or wisdom they do not gain
They were born as small minded people and small their minds remain,
As long as their comments are not libelous pay them the deafened ear
Of their negative comments on you pretend you do not hear
They are small minded people they cannot help who they are
Beyond their small Hometown borders they never travel far.
