Smartness Defined? Poem by C H Sund

Smartness Defined?

Those eyes, gray toned, knowing
How can it be?

Sizing me, sensing me, seeing me
Am I that easy?

Daring me, taunting me, teasing me
Damn! I will get him.

He can’t be that smart, we are superior
Besides, he’s just a squirrel!

Those eyes, I swear they are laughing

I remember this one too...very cute. Onery little tricksters they are, but I love 'em for it. Well, that is until they pelt me with pecans from my pecan tree. ;)
