Smell The Rain Poem by Marilyn Lott

Smell The Rain

Rating: 5.0

Don't you love the smell of rain
On a dark soppy afternoon?
The sound of plopping water
Sometimes comes none too soon

For at times our world is dry
Not a rainy day in sight
But finally the time will come
To relive us from our plight

The ground has been so hard
And cracked without the rain
So when the skies open up
It's refreshing once again

Poor little flowers so thirsty
For we cannot water them all
They need that precious rain
To grow up strong and tall

But the smell of rain I think
Is the most delicious way
To settle all the dustiness
I just love a rainy day

So when the rain is coming
Try not to dread it so
For it keeps the plants from dying
It's the only way, you know

You must never be too busy
To pause your life again
Take time for just a moment
To stop and smell the rain!

What a nice straight forward poem. I also enjoy the rain. There is something positive in everything thats for sure, to bad some people want perfect conditions and don't like the rain.
